Emotional Logic Ltd is committed to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
We recognise that reducing carbon emissions is an essential part of responsible business practice. Our approach focuses on reducing emissions at source through changes to how we work, travel, procure goods and services, and deliver projects. Carbon offsetting is used only for unavoidable residual emissions while reduction activities continue. This commitment is reviewed annually by the Company’s senior leadership team.
Our Current Position
Emotional Logic is a behavioural insight, research and evaluation consultancy operating through a digital-first delivery model.
Our carbon reduction activities already include:
- Hybrid and remote working.
- Digital project management and collaboration.
- Reduced business travel.
- Remote interviews, workshops and stakeholder engagement where appropriate.
- Electronic reporting and document management.
- Reduced paper consumption and printing.
- Ongoing annual carbon measurement and reporting.
Carbon Reduction Measures
Low-Carbon Project Delivery
We seek to reduce emissions associated with project delivery by:
- Prioritising online meetings, workshops and interviews where appropriate.
- Using locally based researchers and facilitators where practical.
- Delivering project outputs electronically.
- Reducing unnecessary travel through effective planning and scheduling.
- Minimising printing and physical materials.
Travel Reduction
Business travel is one of the most significant sources of emissions within professional services organisations. We therefore:
- Use virtual meetings as the default approach where appropriate.
- Prioritise rail and public transport over higher-carbon alternatives.
- Combine meetings and fieldwork activities to reduce journeys.
- Monitor travel patterns and identify opportunities for further reductions.
Energy and Resource Efficiency
We continue to improve operational efficiency through:
- Digital-first working practices.
- Energy-efficient equipment.
- Responsible use of electricity and heating.
- Purchasing energy from renewable resources where possible.
- Reduced paper consumption.
- Planned replacement of equipment with more efficient alternatives.
Sustainable Procurement
Environmental considerations form part of our procurement decision-making. We seek to:
- Work with suppliers and subcontractors who demonstrate responsible environmental practices.
- Encourage supplier alignment with Net Zero ambitions.
- Consider environmental performance when purchasing goods and services.
Carbon Reduction Targets
Emotional Logic Ltd will:
- Maintain annual carbon measurement and reporting.
- Continue reducing avoidable emissions year-on-year.
- Reduce emissions from our baseline position by 2030.
- Maintain carbon-neutral operations while reduction activities continue.
- Achieve Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
Governance
Responsibility for implementing this Carbon Reduction Plan sits with the senior leadership team.
The plan is reviewed annually and supported through:
- Carbon footprint measurement.
- Monitoring of operational and travel emissions.
- Review of procurement and supplier practices.
- Identification of further reduction opportunities.
- Annual reporting and target setting.
Declaration and Sign-Off
This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in accordance with Procurement Policy Note 06/21 and associated guidance on Carbon Reduction Plans.
The information contained within this Carbon Reduction Plan is reviewed annually and reflects our commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and achieving Net Zero by 2050.
