North York Moors Accommodation Panel

The North York Moors Accommodation Panel has been set up by the North York Moors National Park Authority and is being managed by panel provider Emotional Logic.

Businesses who provide accommodation to the tourism sector in and around the North York Moors can join the panel free of charge. The panel collects data on bed space capacity and occupancy levels across the region to enable the analysis of long-term trends. This will enable the National Park Authority to make more effective strategic decision-making for the benefit of the area, including guiding marketing campaigns and spend, and targeting support where it is most needed.

You don’t need to be located within the North York Moors National Park to be part of our Panel, we want to gain a full understanding of where visitors are spending their time and measure the impact they are having.

Benefits of being a panel member:

All participants receive an annual benchmarking report. This will show your monthly data benchmarked against the average in your category (e.g. Hotels / B&Bs / Self-Catering). This information will help you identify areas of your business that you can improve.

You’ll also benefit in other ways. By enabling us to monitor and analyse this important data, we will share our key findings including:

  • Seasonality – what you can do to increase business outside of the peak season
  • Types of accommodation / attractions that perform best – inform your future growth and investment plan
  • Changes in visitor behaviour – spot trends early so that you can adapt your marketing plans
